XPLORADOR CHARDONNAY. They've been carrying this delicious Chilean wine at the convenience store around the corner, and its only $6.99 for two bottles! I'm not a wine expert by any means, but as far as cheap wines go, hot damn.



My favorite thrift store in town had 50% off everything in the whole store (INCLUDING FURNITURE, WHAT!) for Memorial Day. I managed to snatch up this beast for a cool 30 bux! The pattern is so ridiculous and it's rather comfy. It's a tad worn, but that just means it's all broken in and ready to chill. And hey, it doesn't smell, and it's ALL MINE.

I always really sucked at Super Smash Brothers. Or.. thought I did. Turns out I just didn't know to properly execute attacks! There are a lot of different buttons and combos to keep track of- or at least for me, because I'm only half a nerd, a wannabe nerd, if you will. So, after some practice with Sean and figuring out what to actually do, I kind of like the game! I enjoy playing as Pikachu cos you can zap people and call down lightening. SUP SUCKAS. Eventually I might even get good, how 'bout that!


BEER BEER AND MORE BEER. Okay, and maybe some gin and juice... and wine. You get the point. Either way, I tried out two drinking games while I was there and did not get sick! YES! I rather enjoyed playing Power Hour, taking a shot of beer every minute for an hour (or until beer runs out). And landmines was fun once I figured out how to properly spin a quarter (who knew one could have so much trouble with that).


One night after engaging in some of the aforementioned booze, a late night Albertson's trip lead us to magically GLOW CROSSES. You know once I saw them I was drawn like a fucking magnet to them. After getting an employee to scrounge up some quarters for me, I was bestowed with this glorious purple cross. It glowed all night and into the next morning!


My new giant maneki neko! Its arm moves up and down with batteries! Fifteen bux well spent!

I am so late on the Animal Collective train. They are one of those bands that you hear about over and over but for some reason never look into. Based on the name, I pictured them as a group of long bearded, flannel plaid button up shirt wearing, sad bastard indie rock playing band. Boy, was I wrong. I currently cannot get this song out of my head.


'Nuff said. I am kinda ashamed to like this, but it really cracks me up. Plus, I secretly love T. Pain. "I FUCKED A MERMAID"

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Oh my god, the weather has been perfect. I have been able to bust out my tank tops and cute dresses, and it feels glorious. I am seriously basking in this 70's, low 80's weather. SO NICE FOR FLORIDA! I am gonna take it all in while I can, before it gets swampy down here. Also, hay! Next week is SPRING BREAK! Can't complain :]

3 THINGS IM DIGGIN'

I'm not sure who Big Bear is exactly, but obviously he's a cool dude. CHILLIN' WITH BEARS. It's brilliant. The cigars! The bling! The purple velvet! The fruit? One of my friends showed me this a while ago, and I seriously think about it way more than I should. It's gotten to the point where all I have to do is think "BIG BEAR: DOIN' THANGS" in my head and I just can't help but laugh. I'm not sure how this album cover hasn't become an internet sensation or something.


Black lacy thigh high tights, motherfucker. Yes, I am aware (as a friend lovingly pointed out) that these are "slut tights". Do I care? NOPE. Not only are they cute & feminine, they're practical (you don't have to pull 'em down to pee!), and relatively cheap. Plus, no one knows what you're secretly hiding under your dress or skirt. They're sassy and fun and I really don't care if people think it's trashy! Mine don't have the classy back seam down the back though, which is unfortunate. I plan on wearing mine all winter!


I LOVE THIS PLAYLIST! Perfect for sleeping, but also ideal for any other situation. All of these songs hold a similar kind of appeal to me, but I can't put my finger on the words to describe it. I keep coming up with airy, lighthearted, almost whimsical, soft, beautiful. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but all of these songs seriously make my brain sing.

Ok, so i guess titling this post "end of summer" is just a lie because YOU KNOW it will stay hot in Florida for at least 2 more months. But regardless, here's a post dedicated to the loves of my life lately!


SKA AND DUB AND REGGAE
DELICIOUS!
I used to be really into ska. I guess it started in middle school with awful local ska bands. Then I got into all the pop ska stuff (Big D & The Kids Table, MU330, Planet Smashers, etc). It wasn't until mid high school that I came across real, straight up Jamaican ska. And through exploring that, I came to really appreciate reggae and dub stuff too. I came across a pile of old cds a few days ago, and one of them happened to be a mix called "Trad + Shit" (clever, right) from 2 or so years ago. I popped it into my car cd played, and it has not left since! Man, it is some good stuff. Desmond Dekker, The Maytals, The Paragons, Laurel Aitken, Derrick Morgan. I had forgotten how fucking good it was! And now its kinda all I wanna listen to.


OK, IF WHEN IM NOT JAMMIN TO SKA, IM PROBABLY LISTENING TO LATIN MUSIC.
I am completely in love with this song by Cuban band Los Zafiros. It makes me picture dancing in the rainforest or something. And Os Mutantes is super amazing as well. I want more! I needa download/burn some STAT.


ORANGE NAILPOLISH
I hate the color orange usually. I like to blame it on my first boyfriend who LOVED the color so much he wore an orange tux to prom. But anyway, recently I have noticed a lot of people sporting the orange nails, and i decided to give it a go. Im actually pretty stoked with results! I still like white polish the most though. ALSO, check out the sweet new photobucket stickers! how fun.


WII BOWLING
This is so fun. It combines two really fun things, bowling and video games. All the 3 am bowling matches your little heart desires! I wanna become a serious pro so I can slaughter my brother next time we play.
